Projects Projects Projects
I think I might just have too many projects on the go right now. Aside from the work I'm doing for clients, I have five of my own projects in various stages of development. I'm not sure why I am telling you this because of course I am not going to tell you what any of the projects actually are until they are finished. I guess I just had to share.

New Courses
Two new courses start up today: Nutrition for Health and Pre-Industrial Origins of Labour and Socialist Thought (whew! that's a mouthful). They both look like interesting courses, the Nutrition of course being a science course (eeeeasy) and the labour course being an intellectual history course (MAJOR readings - but interesting). My tutor for the Nutrition course is coming across as helpful and friendly right off the bat, and I was lucky enough to get a great tutor for the history course that I worked with before on the WWII course I took awhile ago.

The TREWS AGAIN!!
DAMN that was a good show! Jack was our hero once again and got Emma and I in to see the Trews and Robert Plant at the memorial today. A fantastic show once again. We even stuck around to see and hear Robert Plant this time at Jack's advice and (while it was no Trews show) it was a good show. Nice to see an old rocker like Plant who hasn't lost his spark at all - though I wish I had more knowledge of Led Zeppelin so I could have sung along with some of the tunes. Anyway, the highlight of the evening was definately hanging out with Jack and getting to see another great show by the Trews. We should have gone out drinking with them after the concert but sheer exhaustion and minor illness prevented that (next time nothing gets in the way!!). If you haven't done it yet.... Buy their Albums!!

Labour Course from Hell: DONE!
YESSSSS!! I finished that horrible labour course finally! Dr. Soandso: BITE ME! The course itself wasn't that bad I guess, despite my troubles I certainly learned a thing or two about unions and corporatism and all that jazz. The tutor, however, was about as bad as a tutor can get and boy am I ever glad to be done dealing with him! The next two courses don't start up until October so I get some breathing room for the next month to focus on web projects and the like.

The TREWS !!
Woo Woo!! Go TREWS!! Had the excellent pleasure of seeing the Trews on stage and backstage today. We got to hang out with Jack for most of the day and see Colin & John Angus backstage after the show. Jack seems to be doing great and it was really fun to hang out. The guys are just awesome on stage now, fantastic energy and the music just ROCKS! They were opening for Nickelback (which we didn\'t stay for even though we met the lead singer and he seemed like a really nice guy). We picked up a couple T-Shirts at the concert and Emma\'s going to buy the new CD tomorrow (the Trews have made a permanent and very enthusiastic fan in her). Looking forward to catching their show and hanging out with Jack some more when they make it back here in september!

BEP in Victoria!!
Went to see the Black Eyed Peas at the new memorial arena (sorry.. "Centre") last night. All I can say is: Hot DAMN! That was one hell of an excellent show last night. You know there are bands that work to produce records and there are bands that are all about putting on a great show, and the Black Eyed Peas fall in the second category. Don't get me wrong, their albums are excellent as well (I own all 4 of course), but they are one of the few that are actually better live. They dedicated "Where is the Love?" to London (yet another bombing attempt that same morning) and got everyone burning their fingers with their lighters for that. The encore was mind-blowingly fun and I don't think a single person wasn't jumping as high as they could with the final song ("Let's Get It Started"). If you ever get the chance to see these guys live DO NOT PASS IT UP!! Higher-quality energy infusions just don't come around like that too often.

Kitten Anniversary Numero Uno
We've had our kitten (well... cat now I suppose) for one year as of today!! To celebrate, we gave Mysti a bag of catnip to tear through - which she promptly spread allll over the living room before collapsing in a stoned heap in the center of it all. To review old kitten pictures go here and here.

Live 8
Watched the Live 8 concert on TV today (alll day). I must say it was an impressive effort Bob Geldof put in to getting all those artists together. Some really great performances. Really made me wish I was in London at Hyde Park though, the other venues had some cool stuff going on but the London scene looked by far like the most fun. Lets hope it makes a difference. If you missed the concert you can watch streaming video of it at aolmusic.com

One more down, two to go!
Finished another paper for that cursed labour history course today (woot!!). Four down, two to go! I doubt whether any of the papers I've written for this course will make it on to the site, I am just not inspired by the materials or the tutor at all in this one. Ahh well, almost done and hopefully the next course will be written well and the next tutor won't be so obnoxious.

Owww.
Had 3 wisdom teeth pulled today.... owww it hurts. My first time getting a general anaesthetic, and man is that ever weird. Apparently I was up and about chatting away with people and yet I have nothing left but the rough edges of an edit that took 2 hours of my life away. Respect the drugs y'all, that stuff can literally steal your time.
